My name is Deborah Ashby and I have been in recovery since 9/2/2013. In the past 12 years, I have grown within myself to be a better person, wife, mother, Yaya, and friend. If it weren’t for family and friends who supported me and continue to support me through a rehab program and a 12-step program, I would not have the life I do today. Sobriety has led me to fall in love with endurance sports; Ironmans and Ultra running. Many days, my two worlds collide with running and sobriety. I have found a love of running trails and found many friends who have also walked the addiction journey and the sober journey as well.
On December 6, I will be on another journey of running 100 miles at the Festivus 100 in Middleburg, FL. Along with that, I will be raising money for an amazing foundation called the Sombrero Outreach Foundation. Please help me in helping those who are changing their lives and need some help on their next journey. Without those who lifted me up at a time of need, I may not be where I am today.
